Melocactus salvadorensis, commonly known as Salvador Melon Cactus, is a species of the cactus family. It is renowned for its compact, rounded, melon-like body with prominent ribs running through it and small spines covering each rib. The distinctive feature of this cactus is the cephalium—a woolly, spiny structure that forms on the top of the plant once it reaches maturity. It has small pink or red flowers that are followed by fruit. This cactus is ideal for small gardens or cactus collections.


Care Instructions:

Light: Prefers bright, full sunlight; can handle partial shade sunlight.

Water: Keep soil moist but not soggy. Water when the top inch is dry.

Soil: Use well-draining soil, such as a cactus or succulent mix.
